How to Wear a Sleeveless Button Down Top

Top: H&M | Pants: Loft (Similar Gray, Similar Blue) | Shoes: DSW | Earrings: Loft (Similar)

Sleeveless button down (do you say “button down” or “button up?”) tops have been around for awhile now, but are still so popular and cute! This classic piece is one you need in your closet this summer. Button down shirts are easy to style and you automatically look put together while wearing one! I found the perfect one for you! It’s light weight, inexpensive (Only $13!), good quality and it’s not see through! It really is the perfect basic piece as we head into summer.

This top is great for so many occasions: work, errands, brunch, Target runs, etc. You can dress this top for almost any occasion. In the above photos, I am dressed for work. This is an easy way to look modest and professional while remaining stylish! The pants I am wearing are last years, but I was sure to link this year’s version (Same pants, a little different shade of gray). These LOFT dress pants have been perfect during the spring and summer months because of the light weight material and a light color.

Here are 6 Ways to Style One Top:

  1. White Denim: This all white look makes you look extra stylish for your casual brunch with the girls. I have always been a fan of the white-on-white look.
  2. Denim Mini Skirt: Unbutton the last two buttons and tie this shirt into a cute front knot. This look is cute for a casual lunch date.
  3. Paperbag Shorts: If you are going on a dinner date and don’t feel like wearing a dress, this is the perfect alternative! You look nice and put together while remaining comfortable. Just tuck this top into your favorite high waisted shorts and throw on some low heels and you’re ready to go!
  4. Boyfriend Jeans: When you’re feeling extra casual but still want to look cute, this is the look for you! Tie this shirt into a front knot, grab your boyfriend jeans and favorite mules and you are ready for that Target run you know you’re going to make.
  5. Denim Shorts: This is the most casual of the looks, but still looks put together. Tucking your top into your denim shorts polishes this look. Pair this with your sneakers and go conquer your to-do list! You can even chase after kiddos in this outfit (don’t let them get your white shirt dirty though HA!).
  6. Dress Pants (Shown above): Like I said earlier, this lightweight top looks professional when paired with your dress pants. It is a great way to feel comfortable and cool while still being work appropriate. I love how this top is modest too. You don’t have to worry about showing any cleavage during a meeting.

Crazy for Navy & White Stripes

Top: H&M | Skirt: H&M |Shoes: DSW | Earrings: Francesca’s (Similar)

Let’s get right too it. I am OBSESSED with navy and white stripes!! Last time I was out shopping, I looked down at all the items I had in my hands and they were ALL navy and white stripes! I decided I’d better mix things up a bit, so I ventured back out and looked for some other colors as well. In the end, I ended up with three navy and white pieces, and I’m certain I will purchase more before spring and summer are over.

During the fall and winter months, black is the dark neutral I go for. Navy is a great alternative to black during the spring and summer months. When you pair navy with white you get a fresh, clean look. You can dress your stripes up or keep them casual. Either way I think you a have classy, put together look!

This exact midi skirt is extremely comfortable because it has a partial elastic waste. The front is nice and tailored, but the back half has elastic which makes the skirt breathable and easy to tuck tops into. I also love the button front detail. This trend is super popular right now, so of course I am obsessed when you pair buttons with navy and white stripes — two of my favorite things! You don’t have to spend a lot of money on this skirt either. It’s only $35 and is great quality. I styled this skirt more casually by pairing it with my favorite graphic tee. This top is great quality and is only $10!! I have been wearing it on repeat and get so many compliments when I have it on.

How to Wear a Midi Skirt:

  1. T-shirt: Do what I did and tuck your favorite graphic tee into the skirt for a fun, more casual look. Depending on the length of the tee you could also tie it up into a knot.
  2. Lace Cami: If you are looking for a more dressy look, tuck in your lace cami and throw on a blazer for work. After work, take of the blazer and you are ready for date night.
  3. Crop Top: If you don’t mind a little of your midriff showing, you could add a crop top to your midi skirt for another fun, summery look.

Here are a few of the other navy and white items I had in my hands while shopping!

Casual Easter Outfit

Top: Target | Jeans: Loft (Affordable Option) | Shoes: DSW | Earrings: T.J. Maxx (Similar)

Our faces once we finished the photoshoot and were heading to coffee! HA!

Happy Friday! Let me start by saying my mom and I had an absolute blast taking these photos! If you missed my stories on Instagram, I mentioned my mom was taking my blog photos while my husband was out of town. It was an interesting experience to say the least. There were plenty of photos where she cut off the top of my head, but she was a great sport. We were laughing the WHOLE time! Thanks for supporting my blog, Mom. I love you!

Now on to what you really care about — a casual Easter outfit! If your church is anything like mine, the dress code is fairly casual. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a pretty, pastel dress for Easter, but sometimes I want to be more casual. I want to be able to go to church, then directly to an Easter egg hunt with my family! If you understand this feeling, I have the perfect outfit for you!

I was strolling through Target, sipping my iced coffee, when I saw this top out the corner of my eye. The beautiful eyelet detail drew me in right away! The white eyelets and iridescent buttons make this the perfect top for your casual Easter look. The sleeves also add a soft, feminine touch. Now that we have established how perfect this top is, I do want to let you know it runs a little big. I bought the extra small and felt it was a tad bit loose. If you are in between sizes, I would go ahead and size down. This small detail clearly did not stop me from purchasing the top!

On a normal day, I would front tuck this top with my favorite pair of high waited jeans, but for Easter, I thought pink denim would be more appropriate! The soft pink screams Easter and really brings the top to life. Wearing denim instead of a skirt or dress makes hunting for Easter eggs much easier. These jeans are SO soft and comfy, they hardly feel like denim. This exact pair is from last year, so I went ahead and linked this year’s version for you. They run true to size.

Style tip: Wear this shirt after Easter with your favorite pair of denim bottoms. Tuck the shirt in for a more casual look.

Happy (early) Easter to all of you! I am thankful for ultimate gift we were given through Christ going to the cross for us. I hope you have a blessed time with family and friends! Hopefully everyone is talking about your cute outfit after church! 😉

How to Wear a Graphic T-shirt With a Skirt

T-shirt: Target | Skirt: J. Crew Factory | Boots: T.J.Maxx (Similar)

Happy April, friends! April, Wow! I can’t believe we are already in April. This year has been flying by. Now that spring is here and we are moving into summer, I wanted to share my go-to spring and summer look — a graphic tee with a skirt! I love this look because it’s comfy and fun, but can still be dressed up when you need to. Also, I always feel super stylish when wearing this combo!

Let’s look at 5 ways to wear your graphic t-shirt with a skirt:

  1. Pencil skirt: If you are looking for a way to spice up your workwear, this is it! Throw on your favorite graphic tee and blazer and you just turned your everyday pencil skirt into a fun office look!
  2. Denim skirt: After work, swap the pencil skirt for a denim one and you are ready to head out to a baseball game with friends. This look is super casual, but has you looking extra cute!
  3. Patterned skirt: Pair your favorite graphic tee with a patterned skirt for a stylish, unique look. This is one of my favorite combinations.
  4. Dress: Okay, I know is said “graphic tee and skirt,” but you can also wear your tee over your flowy sundress! This allows you to get more use out of your favorite dress.
  5. Tailored skirt (shown above): This is the perfect look for date night. You are still feeling comfy and casual but look slightly dressed up. The tailored skirt allows you to tuck the tee in or tie it into a knot. Throw on some booties or heels and you’re good to go out with the hubs.
