A “Fat” Size 0 — The Story Behind My Favorite Jeans

Sweater: Abercrombie | Jeans: Abercrombie | Shoes: (Similar) | Earrings: J. Crew Factory

I recently spent the whole day shopping with my mom and I mentioned on Instagram that this trip was “good for my soul.” I want to explain this in more detail.

Love my husband for supporting me and putting up with my crazy!

This was one of the first times I did not have a mini meltdown after having to size up at one of my favorite stores (I sized up because my old size was too small, not because I wanted a looser fit). In the past, instead of sizing up and having the clothes fit in a more flattering way, I would try to squeeze myself into the ill-fitting clothes or just walk away from the purchase all together. Let’s be honest, I have always been “blessed” with a small frame, but I never feel skinny or fit enough. Some days I don’t even want to go out, because I feel so insecure. This has been a life long battle that I have been relying on the Lord, my supportive husband and family to help me get through.

I eat healthy most of the time and workout, but it never seems to help me achieve the look I am striving for. I scroll through my Insta feed and see girls with six pack abs and think to myself “Even just having a flat stomach would make me happy.” On the flip side, I see women with beautiful curves who embrace their shapely bodies and I find myself wishing I had bigger boobs, a curvier booty and their confidence!

Being a woman of God, I need to focus on my inner beauty and truly embrace how He made me. It has taken 26 years to get here, and I am definitely still working on this (baby steps!), but I want to encourage you to accept your body the way it is! Just be your healthy, beautiful self!

In the pictures above, I am wearing the jeans I sized up on. They are easily my new favorite jeans! They are a perfect color for the transition to spring and are comfortable too. It was SO worth getting over my insecurities and buying the right size for my body!

5 Ways to Wear Your Favorite Long Jacket

Jacket: Cupcakes and Cashmere | Jeans: Gap Factory | Heels: DSW | Handbag: Michael Kors (Similar)

Happy Friday, Lovlies! My heart says spring, but Indiana is still SCREAMING winter! *Insert eyeroll*

I love how versatile this jacket is! I have styled it casually with sneakers for my quick Target runs (Where I left with way more than I planned to buy. Oops!) or with heels to dress it up a bit for date night! Either way, it’s been a staple for me this winter and transition to spring!

  1. Weekend Casual: A simple print, boyfriend jeans and a long, drapey jacket is all you need to look a little more put together for your last minute Target run or errands with the kiddos!
  2. Lunch Date: Whether your going to brunch with your girls or a casual date with your significant other, a casual dress paired with a long jacket is a perfect balance of casual and feminine!
  3. Business Casual: This is my go-to office look! Adding a jacket to dress pants and a lace cami allows you to feel fashionable and still work appropriate. P.s. This Abercrombie cami is under $35 and comes in three basic colors!
  4. Weekend out: Heading out on a nicer date with the hubs? A long jacket spices up your cute mini skirt and tall boots to add a more finished look!
  5. Casual Date night (see photos above): This is my favorite way to wear this jacket. I love how a simple jacket and heels can really spice up your casual jeans for date night (Husband approved, too!).

What is your favorite look? Let me know! I love hearing all of your comments.

Black Hearts for Valentine’s Day

Sweater: Banana Republic | Jeans: Hollister | Watch: Kate Spade | Purse: Kate Spade (Similar) | Heels: DSW

Happy (belated) Valentine’s Day, lovelies! I took a slightly different approach to my Valentine’s Day look this year. Normally, I’m all about the red and girly pinks, but when I found this darling sweater from Banana Republic I had to rethink my Valentine’s Day approach!

I wore this sweater to the office, then threw on some heels for a dinner date with my hubby. It worked out perfectly! Let’s be honest, when I first grabbed this sweater, I thought the hearts were black. Come to find out, they are navy (oops). I still rocked it with my black jeans. These jeans from Hollister are my absolute favorite (I sized up). They are stretchy and high waisted, which means they are extra comfy (I appreciated the stretch after eating all my Valentine’s Day candy HA!).
