How to Wear a Gingham Skirt

Top: H&M | Skirt: H&M (Similar) | Hat: H&M (Similar) | Shoes: DSW

I am giddy over gingham this summer! I had so much fun taking these photos all thanks to the gingham print (and my hubby of course). This may sound weird, but my mood instantly changed when I put this skirt on. It’s just so fun! I am not the only one who is loving gingham this season. I have been seeing gingham ALL OVER this summer! Because gingham print is such a hit this season, I decided I would share six ways to wear one gingham skirt.

How to wear a gingham skirt six ways:

  1. Utility Jacket: For a casual look, throw on your utility jacket and sneakers and you are ready to run errands or hangout with the girls.
  2. Fruit Print: I think gingham looks super cute with subtle fruit print tops. This look is also more casual. This easy outfit is perfect for summer.
  3. Graphic T-Shirt: If you’re looking to be extra casual, throw on a graphic tee. I think this look is super trendy and fun. You can tie the front into a knot or tuck it in. This is another cute errand outfit.
  4. Bright Colors: Wear bright colors like red or neon to really make the gingham print pop! This is such a fun look and would be great for a lunch date. I think this is a cute look for a baseball game, too!
  5. Black: For a more classic look, pair your gingham print with a simple black top. I went for my favorite smocked, peplum tank! This is a cute look for date night or going out.
  6. White (See above photos): Pairing your gingham skirt with a white sleeveless top and a hat gives off major summer vibes. This outfit is super versatile. You can wear this for errands, brunch, date night, summer parties and more!

I also wanted to share some other gingham and matching pieces I am crushing on!

I hope this helps you the next time you go to wear your gingham print! Be sure to tag me on Instagram so I can see how you styled your gingham this summer!

The Perfect Summer Dress

Dress: Target | Earrings: Target | Necklace: Target | Bracelet: Target | Shoes: Target (Similar)

Today is the first official day of summer, so I thought it would be the perfect day to share this summer dress! If you are looking for a versatile dress you can wear all summer long, this is the perfect dress for you.

This dress can be worn to almost any occasion; church, brunch, date night, the beach, a cookout, grad parties, weddings, errands and the list goes on and on. You could even wear this to a 4th of July party by adding a red hair scarf! This dress really is the perfect dress for all of your summer happenings! You can easily be dressed up a little bit with heels and jewelry, or dressed down with sandals and a hat!

Add these accessories for a festive or casual look:

The details in this dress are super cute. I love the thick, adjustable straps! You can wear the straps crossed in the back (seen in photos above) or straight back. The texture of this dress adds a fun look to the stripes and creates a cool, summery vibe. The fit and length are great too. For reference, I am 5’5″ wearing an extra small. This dress runs true-to-size. I added beachy jewelry to finish of the look. I can already tell I am going to get a lot of use out of the dress and jewelry.

I hope you enjoy this dress as much as I do! Have a great summer, loves!

Platform Sandals with Sugar Brand Shoes

Top: H&M | Pants: H&M | Shoes: Kohl’s

I was gifted a pair of faux wood platform sandals and now I am in love with them! When Sugar brand shoes reached out to me about reviewing their sandals, I said yes right away because the sandals were so darn cute. I did not expect to love them quite as much as I do!

These sandals are THE MOST comfortable platform sandals I own! The faux wood heel makes this shoe super lightweight and easy to walk in. Also, the footbed is padded for extra comfort! On vacation, I wore them all evening when we went to dinner and a movie and I felt no pain at all. Since I’ve been home, I’ve worn them all day at work multiple times and still experienced no pain. If you are looking for a comfy, cute platform sandal this summer, these are the perfect pair!

Here is another way I have worn these sandals! Details: Hat, Top, Shorts

Typically, I am drawn to a more neutral sandal, but I really do love the faux wood detail and the stud accents. Although they have the extra details, they are still easy to pair with many different items in your closet. I have worn these sandals with with denim, dresses and shorts! They can easily be dressed up a little bit or worn casually.

Now that I love these so much, I am considering purchasing other Sugar brand shoes! This particular pair also comes in brown, so maybe I need those next!

I think the gingham sandals below are just adorable! Also, I love all things leopard print, so I was drawn to a couple of leopard print sandals as well. Here are a few other pairs I’m crushing on:

I would love to hear which pair is your favorite! Happy shopping, friends!

Vacation Outfits

I recently traveled to Florida for a family vacation. This was the first time I was able to see my adorable niece and nephew at the beach! It melted my heart. The week could not have gone better. Today, I wanted to share some personal photos and recap my vacation outfits!

We didn’t waste any time getting to the beach!! The day after we landed we took my sweet niece and nephew to experience the beach for the first time. Obviously, we could not go to the beach without having breakfast first. We stopped at a cute little cafe right next to Fort Myers Beach called Truly Scrumptious. Let me tell you, it truly was “Scrumptious!” My husband and I shared THE BEST cinnamon roll I’ve ever tasted. Okay, enough about the food, I’m making myself hungry! You are here to read about my outfits, anyway! It was Memorial Day weekend, so I wore this strappy, red one-piece from Abercrombie (wearing a small). I feel like it is a good mix between fun and modest. I received quite a few compliments on it too!

On Memorial Day, my family decided to be festive. We all wore red, white and blue! I wore the same watermelon print dress that I shared on my Memorial Day Outfits post a few weeks ago. Be sure to refer back to that post while shopping for July 4th outfits too!

I thought it would be cute to bring floral prints and bright colors on this trip! Here are a few of the brighter pieces I packed. These items are perfect for summer and your upcoming vacations!

Romper: Old Navy | Sandals: DSW
Dress: Old Navy | Sandals: DSW

I also took a couple neutral, black and white outfits! You can never go wrong with black and white. I think this color combination is beautiful for beach sunset photos.

If you have made it this far, THANK YOU! I know this is a longer post, but I just love sharing my family memories with you all! This trip was good for my soul and made me so happy. Here are a few more random photos from the trip, just for fun! I hope this helps you as you shop for your next vacation. If you need a packing check list, be sure to check out last weeks post where I shared my beach vacation packing checklist!

I cannot wait to see your summer vacation photos on Instagram! Thanks for following along with me. I love you all!
