6 Months of Blogging — About Time I Introduce Myself!

Denim Jacket | Dress (Similar, Similar) | Sneakers

I am excited to say, today marks the 6 month anniversary of my blog, Brittany Tierre! I started this blog to share my everyday, practical style like the outfit in the photos above. After 6 months of blogging, I still have not officially introduced myself, so today is the day! Better late than never, right? Along with sharing some fun things about my personal life, I am also going to share a few things I have learned about blogging so far.

Thanks for all your help, Babe! Xoxo

My blog would not be what it is today if not for my husband. I should really refer to this as “our” blog. He is the one who gave me the courage to begin my blogging journey. He also encourages me daily and takes all my photos. If that’s not enough, he helps proofread my posts and keeps an eye on my Instagram account.

My husband and I met in 1st grade! Can you believe it!? He was actually my first ever boyfriend in middle school. We never dated in high school, because we did not want to “ruin our friendship.” Fast forward to college and we decided to give dating a try. Now we have been married for 3 and a half years! We do not have any children yet, but we do have a fluffy, little goldendoodle pup, Blossom. She is full of energy and brings so much joy to our lives.

When I am not blogging, I am working full-time as a graphic designer at a Christian radio station here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I knew at an early age I wanted a career in design, and I feel truly blessed to be where I am today. For fun, I like to exercise, hangout with my mom and sister (and her sweet kiddos) and shop! Oh, I also love coffee! Iced coffee is my favorite, but I drink my fair share of hot coffee too.

My blogging journey has only just begun, but I have learned so much already. Not only have I learned a lot about blogging, I have also learned things about myself.

  1. Blogging is fun, but it’s hard! For the most part, blogging is great! I truly enjoy sharing styling tips, keeping up with sales and meeting new people through social media. That being said, some days after working a full-time job, I simply don’t feel like “being cute” and taking pictures. Some days I just want to sit on the couch and be with my husband without worrying about any unread comments. On those days, I am thankful for my husband’s support and the love you all send my way on social media. You are the ones who keep me going on the days I am just not “feelin’ it.” So, THANK YOU!
  2. Blogging creates new relationships. I do not have the large number of followers on my blog or social media like some major influencers have and that’s okay! I am extremely thankful for every single one of the followers/friends I do have. I have learned you all are the sweetest humans ever! I feel like I have gained so many new friends over this 6 month period. This community is so kind. You go out of your way to send encouraging messages or engage on my content. I am forever grateful to have “met” you!
  3. I am defined by my relationship with God, not the number of followers I have (I knew this before blogging, but I am reminded of this more often now). Before blogging, I loved to follow and read other blogs. I would interact on their feed when I liked something, but for the most part I just enjoyed reading what they had to say and admired their pretty outfits. Now that I have my own blog, some days it’s hard to remember I am not defined by the number of followers or “likes” I have. I remind myself daily that I am blogging because I truly enjoy it. I enjoy sharing outfits and finding good deals. I enjoy the relationships I have made over the past 6 months. It’s so easy to be so excited to share a new post, only to find you’re not getting much interaction on it. You cannot let that get you down! Be excited about your posts! If you’re excited about it, it doesn’t matter if you do not get the “likes” you were hoping to get. If you are not a blogger, this applies to you too. Blogger or not, we are not defined by what other people like or say about us or by the number of followers/friends we have. We are however, defined by our relationship with God and who he made us to be.
Thank you all for your love and support!

I could go on and on about the people I love in my life or my love of blogging, but you all have been reading long enough! Before I wrap this up, I just want to thank YOU for following along! I appreciate every view, comment and friend. You all make this experience so much fun and I cannot wait to see what the future holds! Here is to 6 more months and many more after that!

Platform Sandals with Sugar Brand Shoes

Top: H&M | Pants: H&M | Shoes: Kohl’s

I was gifted a pair of faux wood platform sandals and now I am in love with them! When Sugar brand shoes reached out to me about reviewing their sandals, I said yes right away because the sandals were so darn cute. I did not expect to love them quite as much as I do!

These sandals are THE MOST comfortable platform sandals I own! The faux wood heel makes this shoe super lightweight and easy to walk in. Also, the footbed is padded for extra comfort! On vacation, I wore them all evening when we went to dinner and a movie and I felt no pain at all. Since I’ve been home, I’ve worn them all day at work multiple times and still experienced no pain. If you are looking for a comfy, cute platform sandal this summer, these are the perfect pair!

Here is another way I have worn these sandals! Details: Hat, Top, Shorts

Typically, I am drawn to a more neutral sandal, but I really do love the faux wood detail and the stud accents. Although they have the extra details, they are still easy to pair with many different items in your closet. I have worn these sandals with with denim, dresses and shorts! They can easily be dressed up a little bit or worn casually.

Now that I love these so much, I am considering purchasing other Sugar brand shoes! This particular pair also comes in brown, so maybe I need those next!

I think the gingham sandals below are just adorable! Also, I love all things leopard print, so I was drawn to a couple of leopard print sandals as well. Here are a few other pairs I’m crushing on:

I would love to hear which pair is your favorite! Happy shopping, friends!
